How long have you been creating art?
I’ve been creating art professionally for over 10 years.
I started as an oil painter and a painting instructor, teaching students the foundations of color, composition, and traditional techniques.
For the past 2 years, I’ve expanded into digital painting, blending my fine-art background with modern tools to create vibrant, surreal, retro-inspired visuals.
Do you still work with oil painting?
I no longer paint in oils, today I focus fully on digital art.
After more than 10 years of traditional oil painting and teaching, I shifted to digital because it gives me the freedom to explore retro-futuristic worlds, glossy 3D-inspired forms, motion graphics, and surreal color palettes in a way that traditional mediums can’t match.
That said, oil painting shaped everything about my digital style.
From traditional art I carry:
- Strong color theory
- Atmospheric lighting techniques
- Depth and realism inspired by physical paint
- Patience, composition skills, and layered workflows
- An instinct for textures and subtle details
Those foundations allow my digital artworks to feel alive, expressive, and cinematic, even without real paint.
And who knows, maybe one day I’ll return to oils. But for now, digital is where I can build the nostalgic, surreal, dreamlike worlds I’ve always envisioned.

What are you working on right now?
Right now I’m focusing on a Frutiger-inspired themed painting and animation, experimenting with shapes, typography, and dreamy-retro aesthetics. It’s part of expanding the YumeVista universe and creating new experiences for fans.
What inspires your art?
- Music: n1! (jazz-fusion, city-pop, chiptune, vaporwave, synth pop, indie and electronic mainly)
- Anime (80’s and 90’s)
- Retro video games and console aesthetics
- Sci-fi & surreal literature
- Arthouse cinema
- Tropical escapes, pastel skies, nostalgic brands of any kind
- Japanese consumer culture & packaging
- Retro gadgets and tech (flip phones, CRTs, Tamagotchis, transparent plastics)
I’ve always been fascinated by the “bright future” promised in old ads, anime, and early tech and I try to bring that feeling back through my art.
